Brian Gregory Issues Free Throw Challenge to Ticket Purchasers

Dec. 10, 2012

Purchase Tech Basketball Tickets

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech fans who purchase nine-game Atlantic Coast Conference game ticket packages between now and the close of business (5:30 p.m.) Monday will be entered into a free throw shooting contest with Yellow Jackets head coach Brian Gregory.

The second-year Tech head coach will take on two lucky ACC Game Pack purchasers, selected from a random drawing, prior to a practice in the coming weeks. Fans who have already purchased ACC Packs will be entered into the contest as well.

Each contestant will shoot 10 free throws against Coach Gregory, and if they make more free throws, they will be able to watch Tech’s Feb. 19 game against North Carolina from the Callaway Club in McCamish Pavilion and receive a Tech basketball prize pack. If the contestant is tied with Coach Gregory after 10 attempts, they will go to sudden death.

Gregory was a fine marksman from the charity stripe as a collegiate point guard at Oakland University in Michigan, hitting 81.6 percent of his attempts in 84 games over three seasons, including a rate of 84.4 percent each of his last two years.

Tech’s ACC Game Packs, which include games against 2012 NCAA teams North Carolina, NC State and defending conference champion Florida State, are available by going online, by calling 888-TECH-TIX, or visiting the Tech ticket office at 150 Bobby Dodd Way by 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17.
