Georgia Tech’s Jeremiah Attaochu and Jemea Thomas, both projected to be selected in the 2014 NFL Draft, will play Saturday in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
The game, set for 4 p.m. ET from Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile (Ala.), will be televised nationally by the NFL Network.
Attaochu and Thomas will play for the South team, which will face a North team coached by the Atlanta Falcons coaching staff. The South team is coached by the Jacksonville Jaguars staff.
Attaochu, who played defensive end for Georgia Tech in 2013 and outside linebacker in 2012, is listed on the Reese’s Senior Bowl roster as an OLB. Thomas is listed as a safety. Attaochu will wear his standard jersey No. 45, while Thomas will wear No. 13 (he wore No. 14 last season).
The Yellow Jackets are two of seven players from the ACC on the South roster.
Attaochu and Thomas, who were both invited to participate in the NFL Combine, are the first Yellow Jackets invited to play in the Senior Bowl since Anthony Allen in 2010. Tech has two representatives in the Senior Bowl for first time since 2008 when both Michael Johnson and Vance Walker participated.
Attaochu earned All-American honors in 2013 and broke Georgia Tech’s all-time career sacks record (31.5). Thomas, who played last week in the East-West Shrine Game, tied Georgia Tech’s career games played record (54) and recorded 234 career tackles.
