A Recap of the Men's and Women's Tennis Seasons

June 1, 2004

For the fourth consecutive year, both the men’s and women’s teams at Georgia Tech earned at-large berths into the NCAA Championships Field of 64. While the men’s team dropped their first match to SMU, the women’s team defeated Alabama in their first match, 4-0, before falling in the Round of 32 to the University of Georgia. Both teams finished with winning records this season as the men concluded the year with a 15-8 record and the women were 12-11.

Individually, several Yellow Jackets had successful seasons as well. All-ACC honorees Scott Schnugg and Lyndsay Shosho both received invitations to the NCAA Singles Championship with Schnugg advancing to the Round of 32 while Shosho dropped her first match of the tournament. In addition, all-ACC honoree Kelly Anderson was named to the Academic all-District III Women’s At-Large Second Team and led the team in singles wins this season with 23.

Final rankings for team and individuals will be announced next week on www.collegetennisonline.com on June 8.
