THE FLATS – Utilizing their “down time” to prepare for life beyond Georgia Tech and athletics competition, more than 70 Georgia Tech student-athletes are currently confirmed to be participating in a variety of internships this summer.
Taking advantage of the vast professional network available to them in Atlanta and beyond, Georgia Tech student-athletes’ internships are in a wide range of fields, from Fortune 500 companies to innovative startups to units within the Institute and the athletics department.

Georgia Tech student-athletes have the unique combination at competing at the highest level of collegiate athletics as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference while also attending one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions (ranked the No. 7 overall public university in the nation and the No. 10 engineering school in the world by U.S. News & World Report).
Georgia Tech student-athletes — 78.3 percent of which major in business or engineering — compiled a mean grade point average of 3.0 for the spring semester. Individually, 56.5 percent of the Yellow Jackets’ student-athletes had a 3.0 GPA or better and 45 percent earned a spot on the Institute’s Dean’s List or Faculty Honors.
