NEW ORLEANS – Former SIAA, Southern Conference and SEC rivals will face each other on the gridiron for the first time in 32 years when Georgia Tech (1-0) and Tulane (0-1) open the Green Wave’s new Yulman Stadium. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 4:05 p.m. ET on ESPNEWS.

Georgia Tech and Tulane will meet for the 49th time, with the Yellow Jackets leading the all-time series 35-13 (and 15-9 in New Orleans). Saturday will also be the first time a Yellow Jackets team has played the Green Wave on Tulane’s campus since 1973 (at old Tulane Stadium).

WHAT OPTION?
In their season-opening win vs. Wofford, the Yellow Jackets recorded more passing yards (282) than rushing yards (226). In the Paul Johnson era, Georgia Tech is 5-2 when the Yellow Jackets have racked up more passing yards than rushing yards.

TELEVISION HISTORY
Georgia Tech played its first televised football game on Oct. 2, 1948 – a 13-7 home win…against Tulane. The game was televised on WSB. Georgia Tech and Tulane have played only one other time on TV – a 27-7 Jackets win in 1974 on ABC.

SCORING STREAK
Georgia Tech has played 212 consecutive games without being shut out – the eighth-longest active streak in the nation. The last time the Yellow Jackets were blanked came Oct. 18, 1997 – a 38-0 loss at No. 3 Florida State.

Georgia Tech hasn’t been shut out at home since Nov. 30, 1957 – a streak of 353 consecutive home games at Boddy Dodd Stadium.
