2007 Volleyball Blog - #3 - Aug. 25

Aug. 26, 2007

by Mary Ashley Tippins and Jordan McCullers Hey Ya’ll! It’s Mash and Jordan, your fabulous freshmen! We are just finishing up breakfast here at the Clarion Inn in Fayetteville, where they serve a mean scrambled egg to go with a delicious French toast. We will be boarding the plane in about two hours to return home after a very successful weekend.

We were both extremely excited to test the collegiate waters in the sea of volleyball. There were some distinct differences between college ball and the high school and club ranks. The level of intensity and competition has moved to a level 10 on the Richter scale. Every match that we play is so vital, and beating Pitt and Arkansas was just what we needed to start the season off right. It was such a great experience to work together and see how our hard work during the preseason came to fruition.

For now, we are just stoked to get back in the gym and take what we have learned from this weekend to prepare us for our next matches … which are at home Sept. 7-8. Being spectators from the stands of O’Keefe Gym for most of our lives, we are uber-eager to finally step on the court and strut our stuff. We can’t wait, and hope to see the stands packed out once again!

Love Y’all!
