CLEMSON, S.C. (Nov. 2) – The #14 Clemson Tigers proved to be too much for the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday night as they defeated the Yellow Jackets, 3-0, 3-15, 1-15, 15-17. The Tigers improve to 24-1, 12-1 on the season while Georgia Tech falls to 15-11, 5-8 in the conference.
In games one and two, the Tigers totally dominated the Yellow Jackets as Tech hit -.047 to Clemson’s .453.
Game three the Jackets fought hard to build a 12-8 lead, and served for game point three times, but in the end, the Tigers were able to wear down Tech’s sideout offense.
The Jackets were led by Maja Pachale and Teryl Townsend who each had nine kills. Teryl Townsend ended the match as Tech’s top defensive player with 10 digs and three block assists.
The Tigers were paced by Emily Gorla who had 14 kills and Jodi Steffes who contributed 14 digs.
Georgia Tech will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. on Sunday to face Florida State on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. -30-
