GAINESVILLE, FLA. – Georgia Tech women’s tennis wrapped up the ITA Southeast Regionals on Sunday with two Yellow Jackets competing. Rasheeda McAdoo and Kenya Jones both represented the Yellow Jackets.
Singles Action
Tech had two players competing in singles action on Sunday in the main draw and backdraw. McAdoo sought a spot in the semifinals meeting Miami’s Maci Epstein. After a first set loss 6-0, McAdoo fought hard in the second set, but fell 7-5, in the quarterfinals.
Jones looked to advance in the singles backdraw and opened the day facing Miami’s Clara Tanielian in the quarters. Jones defeated Tanielian in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, to meet Georgia’s Caroline Brinson in the semifinals. Brinson took the first set 6-3, but Jones battled in the second set, forcing a tiebreak, but fell 6-2 in the tiebreak.

Tech will close out the fall tournament portion of the schedule at the Roberta Allison Invite Oct. 28-29 in Tuscaloosa.
