Yellow Jackets Prep to Open Season at FSU, vs. Pitt

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech swimming and diving opens up the 2018-19 regular season slate this Saturday, Oct. 6, as the Yellow Jackets travel down to Tallahassee, Fla. to take on ACC opponents Florida State and Pittsburgh at 9:30 a.m.

Last season the Yellow Jackets were able to sweep Pittsburgh in their season-opener. The women were able to win 183.5-116.5 and the men took a 168-132 victory. Tech last took on Florida State during the Georgia Tech Invitational where the Seminoles won the event.

In the ACC last year, the Georgia Tech men finished fourth, while the women finished fifth overall. Pitt men finished 11th in the conference and the women finished seventh, while Florida State finished seventh (men) and eighth (women).

The Yellow Jackets return four of their five NCAA qualifiers from last year as Christian Ferraro, Caio Pumputis and diver Matt Casillas look to build off of last year’s success. The women’s team returns NCAA qualifier Iris Wang, while also returning diver Camryn Hidalgo for her sophomore campaign after an impressive first year on The Flats.
