ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Irina Falconi will travel to New Haven, Conn., this weekend to participate in the 2009 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Tennis Championships, which will be hosted by Yale Nov. 5-8.
The remaining Yellow Jackets will compete in the UNC Invitational field, which will be held Nov. 6-8 at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Falconi will try and win her second straight national singles title. The sophomore from Jupiter, Fla., who was tabbed the No. 2 seed for this tournament, won the 2009 ITA/Riviera All-American Singles Championship in October. Falconi will face Fani Chifchieva of Auburn in the first round beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Junior Sasha Krupina will lead the remainder of the Yellow Jacket squad at the UNC Invitational. The Jackets will compete against players from North Carolina, Duke and NC State among others.
