Yellow Jackets Claim Top Seed at ACC Softball Tournament

ATLANTA – After winning its first regular-season Atlantic Coast Conference championship on Friday night, the No. 17-ranked Georgia Tech softball team (45-11, 11-4 ACC) was awarded the top seed at the ACC Tournament, hosted by Maryland in College Park, from May 12-15.

The Yellow Jackets are followed by No. 2 seed Florida State (38-20, 11-6 ACC), No. 3 seed Virginia (26-29, 9-8 ACC), No. 4 seed NC State (39-23, 7-7 ACC), No. 5 seed North Carolina (33-25, 9-9 ACC), No. 6 seed Maryland (23-18, 5-9 ACC) and No. 7 seed Virginia Tech (36-20, 4-13 ACC).

The ACC Tournament will begin on Thursday at 11 a.m. with No. 4 NC State vs. No. 5 UNC. Tech will play the winner of that game on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets will wrap up the regular season with Atlantic Sun Conference champion Troy University (43-18) on Senior Day at Glenn Field, Monday, May 9. The non-conference doubleheader will start at 2 p.m.
