ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will host its annual Fall Invitational this weekend at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on the edge of Georgia Tech’s campus, with players from Florida State, Maryland and Marshall joining the Yellow Jackets at the three-day event, which begins Friday at 10 a.m.
The Jackets boast a pair of players ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in Lyndsay Shosho (46th) and Kelly Anderson (55th.) Florida State has 36th-ranked Mihaela Moldovan on its roster, while Maryland’s Ramona But is ranked No. 22 in the nation in singles play. Four teams ranked in the top-60 in doubles play will be competing, as Marshall’s Ashley Kroh and Ali Paradis rank 37th, Florida State’s duo of Moldovan and Roxanne Clarke are No. 58, Georgia Tech’s Kelly Anderson and Esther van Londen appear in the No. 59 slot, and Maryland’s But and Marianne Baker round out the rankings at No. 60.
The tournament will be played in a format where members from one school will compete against members of another school in eight singles matches and four doubles matches. Teams will play against all three opponents in both singles and doubles play during the course of the tournament. The schedule of play is as follows:
