TALLAHASSEE — The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team continued its winning ways on Sunday by capturing a pair of individual titles and a doubles draw win on the final day of play at the Lady Seminole Fall Classic. The three-day tournament was contested at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center on the campus of Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla.

The first win of the day for the Yellow Jackets came in the Singles A Draw, as senior Jaime Wong defeated Florida State’s 35th-ranked Anca Dumitrescu in the finals in straight sets. Wong won the first set by a tight 7-5 score and then picked up a 6-4 victory in the second set to win the match.

A pair of Tech players squared off in the Singles C Draw finals, as freshman Annelies Schenk defeated junior Maria Nieto in straight sets. Schenk won the first set by a 7-5 score and then rolled in the second set for a 6-1 victory.

Nieto would get a doubles draw title later on however, as she teamed with sophomore Catherine Gunn to defeat Florida State’s Lawrence and Gheorghe in the Doubles B Draw final. The duo cruised to an 8-4 win in the match.

The Jackets’ other competitor of the day was senior Mysti Morris, who fell to Kentucky’s Nathalie Roels in the Singles B Draw finals by a 6-2, 6-3 score.
