Yellow Jacket Basketball To Host Meet And Greet on Saturday

Sept. 20, 2011

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech men’s and women’s basketball teams and coaches will host a meet and greet, and autograph signing session beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, prior to the Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina football game.

Fans can come interact and get autographs from both teams on the south end of Peter’s Parking Deck across Bobby Dodd Way from Bobby Dodd Stadium.

“It’s always really important when we’re able to meet our fans because they come out and support us during the season and help us achieve our goals,” men’s basketball senior guard Nick Foreman said. “Our fans always come out to see us, but we don’t really get the chance to interact with them very often. Saturday’s event will allow them get to know us a little better and see where we’re coming from and we get to see where they come from too. It allows us to give back to them for all the support they give us during the year.”

Women’s basketball head coach MaChelle Joseph echoed Foreman’s sentiments about being excited to see the fans.

“We’re really excited about the opportunity to be in front of our fans on Saturday and support our football team, but at the same time we have an opportunity to get people excited about our season and about our team,” Joseph said. “We’re anxious to get out there and interact with our fans, our alumni and our supporters, and have a chance for our freshmen to see what it’s all about and be a part of this program.”

Both Yellow Jacket basketball teams will open their season on Friday, Nov. 11, at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. The women will face Alabama State beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the men’s team and the Georgia Tech debut of men’s head coach Brian Gregory against Florida A&M at 8 p.m.

Tickets for both the men’s and women’s teams can be purchased by calling 888-TECH-TIX.
