SCOUTING TECH – The Yellow Jackets closed out non-conference play last week prior to its bye weekend, collecting a 4-3 decision over then-No. 24 UCF. Tech took the doubles point and three singles matches, clinched by Kylie Bilchev, to pocket the top 25 victory. With the win, the Jackets jumped two spots to No. 20 in the latest ITA polls released on Tuesday. The Jackets are led by three players with double-figure dual singles wins on the season – Bilchev, Mahak Jain and Carol Lee.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA – The Cavaliers split its past weekend matches, falling at Miami before collecting a narrow 4-3 win at Florida State. Virginia’s loss at Miami snapped a six-match win streak dating back its ACC opening weekend in late February. The Cavaliers boast four players ranked in the top 100 in singles and a pair of doubles teams in the top 11. Virginia leads the all-time series, 27-17, and has taken two consecutive.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH – Coming off three-straight losses, Virginia Tech hosts Clemson on Friday before welcoming Georgia Tech on Sunday. The Hokies look to improve their conference record, having only defeated Louisville earlier this season. Virginia Tech, however, has taken Boston College, Duke and North Carolina all to the brink in 4-3 decisions. Three Hokies own double-figure dual singles wins on the season, led by Katie Andreini and Ozlem Uslu with 12 each. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series against Virginia Tech, 22-3, and has taken seven-straight matches dating back to 2017.
