Women's Tennis Team Hosts Furman

ATLANTA (March 14) – After a 1-1 split in the ACC over the weekend, the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team plays host to Furman at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Bill Moore Tennis Center. The unranked Paladins will be a welcome break from ACC play for the No. 46 Yellow Jackets.

In the Furman match, Tech hopes to continue to improve in its play. Head Coach Bryan Shelton has emphasized to the team the importance of the doubles points. The Wake Forest match was clinched by the Demon Deacons in the first doubles match and several other matches have been decided by the doubles points.

In both the N.C State and the Wake Forest matches, the highlight was the play of Laura Ozolins (Toronto , Ontario) and JaimeWong (Delray Beach, Fla.). Both players look to take their momentum into the match with Furman.

Ozolins is riding a seven game winning streak going into this week sharing time at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots. Wong has won nine of the ten matches that she has played this spring.
