Women’s Tennis Set for ITA Southeast Regionals

THE FLATS – Coming off a two-week break from fall competition, Georgia Tech women’s tennis is set to return to action at the ITA Southeast Regionals this weekend. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Gainesville, Fla., for the five-day tournament, Oct. 19-23.

The tournament is one of 14 regional championships occurring around the country leading up to the culmination of the fall tournament season. The singles champions and finalists and doubles champions from each ITA Division I Regional Championships receive automatic entry into the 2023 ITA National Fall Championships. The Fall National Championships are set to be played Nov. 1-5 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.

Representing Georgia Tech this weekend will be Kylie Bilchev, Alejandra Cruz, Mahak Jain, Meera Jesudason, Carol Lee, Ruth Marsh, Given Roach and Kate Sharabura.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
WHAT: 2023 ITA Southeast Regionals
WHO: Athletes from 18 different schools will be competing in an individual singles and doubles tournament
WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 19 – Monday, Oct. 23
WHERE: Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Thursday – Oct. 19 – Qualifying Draw
2 rounds of doubles and 2 rounds of singles – singles action begins at 9 a.m.

Friday – Oct. 20 – Main Draw
Doubles round of 32; Singles rounds of 64 and 32 – doubles action begins at 9 a.m.

Saturday – Oct. 21 – Main Draw
Doubles round of 16 and quarterfinals; Singles round of 16; Consolation – doubles action begins at 9 a.m.

Sunday- Oct. 22 – Main Draw
Singles quarterfinals and semifinals; Doubles semifinals; Consolation – singles action begins at 9 a.m.

Monday – Oct. 21 – Main Draw
Singles and doubles finals; Consolation; action begins at 9 a.m.
