Women’s Tennis Readies for Clemson Saturday

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis is set for its lone match this weekend, returning to Atlantic Coast Conference play by welcoming Clemson to the Ken Byers Tennis Complex on Saturday. First serve is slated for noon.

No. 28 Georgia Tech (11-6, 6-2 ACC) took a break from ACC play for three non-conference matches, going 2-1, most recently falling to No. 10 Georgia. The Yellow Jackets have won eight of their past 10 matches and look to return to winning ways on Saturday. Tech is led by a pair of Jackets ranked in the latest ITA polls – No. 54 Carol Lee, who boasts a team-high 13 dual singles wins, and No. 84 Kylie Bilchev, who owns a 7-2 dual singles mark at the No. 3 spot. Tech boasts two doubles teams ranked in the top 25 – No. 9 Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura and No. 21 Kylie Bilchev and Ava Hrastar.

Clemson (9-7, 2-5 ACC) also returns to conference play after breaking for a non-conference tilt against Furman. The Tigers defeated Furman, 4-3, to snap a two-match skid. Clemson has won three of its past five matches. The Tigers are led by Samantha Buyckx and Daniella Medvedeva, who each own a team-high 10 dual singles victories. Clemson’s doubles team of Buyckx and Ali DeSpain lead with a 7-2 dual record.

Clemson leads the all-time series with Georgia Tech, 30-14, but the Yellow Jackets have taken six straight dating back to 2016.
