Women's Tennis Nets 5-2 Victory Over Middle Tennessee

The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team grabbed it’s thrid straight victory beating Middle Tennessee State 5-2 at the Bill Moore Tennis Center in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon.

The match was clinched by Mysti Morris in the No. 2 singles spot with a 7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-0 victory over Tanja Buchheim. Yellow Jacket Jaime Wong dominated Michaela Gridling 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles match. Senior Bobbi Guthrie fought through a second set tie breaker to take the No. 3 match from Inge Weirich 6-2, 7-6 (6). Kristen Roberson had the final singles victory beating Stacy Varnell 2-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4.

The Yellow Jackets started off the day by winning all three doubles matches to take the doubles’ point. Mysti Morris and Jaime Wong won 8-4 in the no. 1 spot beating Manon Kruse and Stacy Varnell of Middle Tennessee. The doubles teams of Mason Miller and Laura Ozolins and Lea Miller and Bobbi Guthrie won their matches 9-8 in the no. 2 and no. 3 spots respectively.

Georgia Tech goes back on the road to face South Alabama in Mobile on February 24.
