Women’s Tennis Hosts Louisville, Notre Dame

THE FLATS – After a four-match road swing to open Atlantic Coast Conference play, Georgia Tech women’s tennis returns home this weekend to host Louisville on Friday and Notre Dame on Sunday. This weekend will begin a four-match homestand for the Jackets.

The No. 36 Yellow Jackets (6-4, 3-1 ACC) will look to extend their three-match win streak this weekend. Most recently, Tech capped its four-match road swing with a pair of victories at Syracuse and Boston College last weekend. Carol Lee went undefeated in the two matches, collecting a quartet of wins between doubles and singles. Also going undefeated in singles play this weekend were Kylie Bilchev, Gia Cohen and Mahak Jain.

No. 72 Louisville (7-4, 0-3 ACC) winning seven of its first eight matches before going on a three-match skid to start ACC play. The Cardinals opened league play at home against Duke, North Carolina and Notre Dame. Tyra Richardson and Chelsea Sawyer each own a team-leading four singles wins on the season, while Andrea Di Palma and Tatiana Simova have partnered in doubles to go 4-1.

No. 35 Notre Dame (8-5, 1-2 ACC) has dropped three of its past five outings, but most recently picked up a 5-2 win at Louisville. The Fighting Irish opened ACC play facing two top-15 opponents in North Carolina and Duke. Page Freeman leads Notre Dame at 9-3 in dual singles action, while partnering with Maria Olivia Castedo in doubles to go 4-0.
