THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis received academic recognition on Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as five student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, while the program was recognized with the ITA All-Academic Team award.
Representing Georgia Tech individually were Alejandra Cruz, Ava Hrastar, Carol Lee, Mahak Jain and Kate Sharabura. This marks the first ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition for Cruz, Lee and Jain. Cruz, Lee and Sharabura were all named to the All-ACC Academic Team in June.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year.
Additionally, for the fourth consecutive year, Georgia Tech women’s tennis was tabbed an ITA All-Academic Team. Teams must have compiled at least a 3.2 grade-point average with all members of the team factored in to receive the honor.
