THE FLATS – A trio of Georgia Tech seniors will represent the Yellow Jackets in college all-star games this month as D.J. White and Jamal Golden have accepted invitations to the East-West Shrine Game, while Patrick Skov is headed to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

Both games will be played Saturday, January 23 — the East-West Shrine Game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. (4 p.m. ET; NFL Network) and the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. (6 p.m. ET; ESPN2).

White, a 2015 captain, capped his career at Tech by playing in 11 games this season and registering 41 tackles, two interceptions and a team-leading eight pass breakups. The cornerback from McDonough, Ga., finished his career with 162 tackles, five forced fumbles and seven interceptions.

Golden has played in all 26 games over the last two seasons and led all defensive backs this year with 64 tackles and was tied for the overall team lead with 45 solo stops. The big-play safety from Wetumpka, Ala., completed his Tech career playing in 54 games with 169 tackles, five forced fumbles and eight interceptions. Also an accomplished kick returner, he leaves The Flats as the school’s career record-holder in kickoff return average (24.5) and ranks second all-time at Tech in kick return yards (1,860).

Skov entered Tech this season as a graduate transfer from Stanford and made eight starts for the Yellow Jackets at B-back. He finished the season tied for the team lead in touchdowns with eight, including six rushing. On the ground, he carried the ball 93 times for 377 yards, which included a career-best 75-yard effort at Duke. Also a standout in the classroom, the Guadalajara, Mexico native was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection each of the last two seasons.
