Georgia Tech’s Jayme Gergen was named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Yellow Jackets, who have now won nine straight matches, to two conference victories on the road.

The Topeka, Kan. native helped Tech to a 3-0 win over Wake Forest posting 10 kills and a .714 hitting percentage. In addition, she recorded five digs, two solo blocks and a service ace in the victory.

The senior middle blocker followed that performance by tallying 13 kills and a .520 hitting percentage at Duke. In the 3-0 victory, Gergen also notched three digs and three blocks.

Gergen did not commit a hitting error in 39 attempts over the two matches while hitting .590. She currently leads the conference with a .403 hitting percentage on the season.

This marks the first time in Gergen’s career that she has won the award and is the third consecutive week that a player from Georgia Tech has been named ACC Player of the Week.
