THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech volleyball team travels to Bloomington, Ind. this weekend to take part in the Indiana Invitational, beginning with a 5 p.m. matchup against Bowling Green State on Friday at University Gym. The Yellow Jackets will then play Cleveland State at 10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a 7 p.m. contest against host Indiana.

Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets are riding the momentum from a perfect 3-0 weekend at the Georgia Tech Courtyard Invite. The Jackets defeated Cal State Fullerton, 3-1, Charleston Southern, 3-0, and SMU, 3-2.
Senior outside hitter Bailey Hunter was named the MVP of the tournament and senior Nicki Meyer was named libero of the tournament. Senior rightside hitter Monique Mead joined Hunter and Meyer on the All-Tournament team.
Hunter recorded her second double-double of the season with 19 kills and 10 digs, while Mead was just one block shy of a triple-double for the second time this season (20 kills, 10 digs, nine blocks) against SMU. Meyer had 34 digs in the tournament and averaged 2.83 digs per set.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets’ defense was strong, averaging 12.67 digs per set and holding opponents to just a .095 hitting percentage. At the net, Tech is hitting at a .240 clip and averaging 12.17 kills per set.
Tech owns an even 1-1 combined tally against the three weekend opponents. The Jackets have never before played Cleveland State, and are 1-0 vs. Bowling Green State and 0-1 vs. Indiana.
The Yellow Jackets are just three wins away from 650 total wins in the program’s 32 years of existence.
Bowling Green State
The Falcons dropped its first two games of the season to Marquette, 0-3, and Northwestern, 1-3, at the Marquette Challenge.
BGSU is led by junior Danielle Tonyan. The rightside hitter averaged 4.43 kills per set with 31 total kills over the weekend. The defense was led by Ashley Dunn who put up 33 digs (4.71 per set) and Kaitlyn Skinner with 10 blocks (1.43 per game).
Cleveland State
Cleveland State started off the 2012 season with a perfect 4-0 record, defeating the likes of Kent State, IPFW, Murray State and Eastern Michigan. The Vikings were picked to finish second in the Horizon League this season after falling to Milwaukee in the Championship game last season.
The Yellow Jackets will have to watch out for the Cleveland State go-to offensive powerhouse, Kara Koch, who is connecting for an impressive 5.40 kills a set, with a team-high 81 attacks. Maggie Hannon and Marie Frease have combined for 21 of the team’s blocks.
Indiana
The Hoosiers went 3-0 during the Black Knight Invitational last weekend, defeating Stony Brook, Army and Quinnipiac. Jordan Haverly leads the Indiana attack with 38 kills (4.22/set) in 100 attempts for a .230 percentage.
Freshman setter Katie Gallagher played a big part in IU’s success and she was named the Big Ten Volleyball Freshman of the Week for her efforts. Gallagher had two double-doubles in the tournament and is averaging more assists per set than any other setter in the Big Ten.
