Volleyball Middle Blocker Alexandra Preiss Named ACC Player of the Week

Junior Alexandra Preiss was named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading No. 23 GeorgiaTech to three wins, including two conference victories.

Against Clemson, the middle blocker hit .484, with 17 kills on 31 attempts. She also added four blocks in their match against the Tigers. The Berlin, Germany native, hit an impressive .565 versus the Florida State Seminoles with 15 kills on 23 attempts. Preiss had only four errors in 54 attempts in conference play last week.

The Yellow Jackets faced off against Florida A&M to finish up their non-conference play before the ACC Championship. Preiss hit .250 in the match and finished the week as Georgia Tech’s top hitter with 3.80 kills per game and a .457 hitting percentage.

Georgia Tech improved its record to 26-5 overall and 11-3 in league play and face Wake Forest and Duke this weekend in their final home conference series of the season.
