THE FLATS – Georgia Tech added twin sisters Annika and Teegan Van Gunst of Atlanta to the Yellow Jackets’ 2013 class, head coach Tonya Johnson announced Thursday. Annika (6’0, middle blocker) and Teegan (6’0 outside hitter) are the fourth and fifth additions to the 2013 incoming class.
“Annika and Teegan will be great additions to our program,” Johnson said. “They are both very competitive and have a great understanding of the game. Annika will bring versatility to the right side/middle and Teegan will add depth on the outside. We’re excited to have them and look forward to them being impact players very early in our program along with the rest of the incoming 2013 class.”
Annika and Teegan Van Gunst are four-year letterwinners at Whitewater High School under the direction of Valerie Jones. The duo led the team to four region championships and helped the team win two 5A state championships in 2009 and 2012.
