THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field began the War Eagle Invitational with 10 top 10 finishes on Friday in Auburn, Ala.
Tech had eight top ten finishes in invitational events. In the men’s 1500m, Zach Jaeger placed seventh (3:48.29) with Joshua Williams and Myles Collins placed eighth and 10th among attached athletes with times of 3:50.96 and 3:57.26. The women’s 1500m was highlighted by Sarah Copeland placing eighth with a time of 4:33.75.
Four more top 10 finishes came out of the 5000m, Kenzie Walls finished fifth (17:13.30) and Katy Earwood crossed ninth (17:22.87). The men’s 5000m saw Miguel Schilcht placed eighth (14:36.82) and Jackson Borden finished ninth (14:37.53)
The remaining top 10 finishes came in the long jump with Oninye Chukka leaping to an eighth place finish with a mark of 5.70m (18’8.5”) and Cameron O’Neal put up a mark of 7.00m (22’11.75”), good for a 10th place finish.
The White and Gold will continue competition at the War Eagle Invitational on Saturday.
