ATLANTA (Feb. 9) – Georgia Tech football standouts Travares Tillman (Lyons, Ga.) and Dan Dyke (Winter Springs, Fla.) were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic football team, announced by Commissioner John Swofford. To be eligible, a player must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the fall semester or have maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Tillman, a three-year starter and two-time second-team all-ACC selection for his exploits on the field, posted a 3.0 grade point average in Management. The senior free safety completed his career as the fourth-leading tackler among defensive backs in Tech history.

Dyke, Tech’s starting punter, is a first-team GTE Academic All-America with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in Aerospace Engineering. The sophomore averaged 43.8 yards per punt last fall, the third best season average in school history, while helping Tech ranks 12th nationally in net punting.
