Three Jackets Set to Open Qualifying at Palmetto Pink Open

SUMTER, S.C. — Senior Paige Hourigan and freshmen Ida Jarlskog and Victoria Flores open qualifying play at the Palmetto Pink Open on Sunday. The ITF Women’s Circuit event is being played at the Palmetto Tennis Center.

Eight qualifiers will earn berths into the main draw after the field of 64 qualifiers is narrowed down through three rounds of play. Main draw action gets underway on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

All three Jackets will take the court at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Jarlskog will take on Rouyu Chen of China while classmate Flores opens the tournament facing Kathleen Derienzo (USA). Hourigan will meet Jada Robinson (USA) in her first match.

Flores and Jarlskog each made their debut as Yellow Jackets at the Duke Invitational in Sept., both finishing third in their respective draws after picking up a pair of wins. This will be Hourigan’s first tournament this fall season.

Results for the tournament can be found here.
