THE FLATS – After multiple days of competition at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships, three Jackets clinched their spot to compete at the upcoming NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. This is the most Tech divers to qualify for the national meets since the 2021 season.
Anna Bradescu is set to join Tech teammate, Deniz Ertan, at the women’s championships which will commence on Wednesday, March 15 in Knoxville, Tenn. Bradescu qualified for the women’s platform event after placing third overall with a final score of 573.20. This will be the junior’s third appearance at the national meet.
Ruben Lechuga and Elijah Klier will join three Tech swimmers at the men’s championships. The men’s championships will take place from Wednesday, March 22 to Saturday, March 25 in Minneapolis, Minn.
With a seventh-place score of 692.60 in the men’s 1 Meter event, Lechuga was the first diver to qualify for NCAA’s. The senior record holder has now qualified for the NCAA Championships twice during his time on the flats.
At his first Zone B Championships, Klier achieved an impressive performance in the men’s platform. The freshman placed seventh with an overall score of 703.55 in the event.
