This is the first design, developed by Richard L. Aeck, FAIA, for the Alexander Memorial Building. The scale model was built complete with electric lighting to be used to help raise construction funds. It proved to be a bit too expensive, and Aeck developed a second design - the well recognized - and used - round, domed basketball coliseum which served well.
