Teegan Van Gunst Named Academic All-District

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech sophomore outside hitter Teegan Van Gunst has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District second team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday.

Van Gunst, a native of Fayetteville, Ga., has started every match this season and leads the Yellow Jackets with 320 kills, averaging 3.52 kills per set; seventh in the ACC. Van Gunst is tied for second on the team with 16 aces, 242 digs and eight solo blocks.

The mechanical engineering major holds a 4.0 cumulative GPA and was named to the 2013-14 ACC Honor Roll.

Van Gunst and the Yellow Jackets take on Wake Forest and NC State on the road this weekend. Action begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. against the Demon Deacons, before Tech takes on the Wolfpack on Sunday at 2 p.m.
