Jan. 20, 2002

Athens, Ga. – Georgia Tech junior tennis player Jaime Wong was the lone remaining Yellow Jacket in the Georgia Invitational field, but was unable to advance past the quarterfinal round on Sunday. The four-day event is being held at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga.

Wong, who was the fifth-seeded player in the main draw, faced Tonya Grib of Brenau in the quarters and was defeated in straight sets. Grib won a hard-fought first set, as she claimed a 7-6 (1) decision. The second set was close as well, with Grib taking a 6-4 win in that set.

The Georgia Invitational will conclude on Monday with the final round of play in each of the draws. Full results are available at www.georgiadogs.com.
