TECH'S MASSEY PUNCHES TICKET TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior Michael Massey tallied a fourth-place finish in the men’s high jump with a clear of 6’11.00″ to qualify for the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Friday night at the Percy Beard Track. Senior sprinter Amandi Rhett led the women’s track and field team with qualifying times in the 100- and 200-meter dashes for the Yellow Jackets.

Rhett posted times of 11.52 and 23.67 in the 100m and 200m, respectively to advance to the finals on Saturday afternoon.

The women’s 4x100m of Dana Rogers, Ashlee Kidd, Andriane Lapsley and Rhett finished first with a time of 44.44 to qualify for the finals tomorrow afternoon.

Junior Montrell Person qualified for the finals in the men’s 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.69.

Senior Brendon Mahoney finished the 1500 meters with a time of 3:49.90 to qualify for the finals on Saturday.

Kidd was the final Jackets to advacne to the finals tomorrow afternoon, posting a time of 52.90 in the 400 meters.

Junior Jonathan Spillman finished the shot put with a personal-record throw of 56’5.25″ to finish 11th in the event.

The NCAA Region Track and Field Championships will continue on Saturday afternoon on the campus of the University of Florida.
