Tech's Griffin Tabbed ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – On the heels of a victory at the Georgia Intercollegiate Championships, Georgia Tech standout Katie Griffin was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week the league office announced Monday.

A native of Stone Mountain, Griffin was the first overall finisher at Saturday’s Georgia Intercollegiate. She clocked a time of 17:51.94, which was nearly 35 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.

Griffin led a group of four Jackets that placed among the meet’s top seven overall finishers, as Tech captured the Division I team title for the seventh consecutive season. She has been the Jackets’ top finisher in each of her three races this season.

Tech returns to action Saturday, October 19 at the Auburn Invitational.
