Tech's Anderson & Schnugg Named to All-ACC Men's Tennis Team

April 17, 2003

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech men’s tennis senior Roger Anderson and junior Scott Schnugg were both named as members of the All-Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis team as announced by the league office on Thursday evening. The 18-member team was selected by a vote of the conference’s nine head coaches.

Anderson earned All-ACC honors for the third-straight year as he is currently the nation’s 23rd-ranked singles player and is second on the team with a 23-8 overall singles record and is 11-7 in dual matches this season, while playing at the top of the singles lineup. He teams with Schnugg to form Tech’s top doubles team, as the duo was named to the All-ACC team after winning the league’s flight one doubles crown. The duo holds a 12-1 record in dual matches and is 13-2 overall on the year and are currently ranked 20th in the nation.

Schnugg garners all-conference accolades for the first time in his career with the win in flight one doubles with Anderson. He has also been one of the Jackets’ top singles performers, holding a 14-6 dual-match record and a team-leading 25-13 overall record in 2003.

Anderson, Schnugg and the rest of the Georgia Tech men’s tennis team will open play in the ACC Tournament by facing third-seeded Florida State in the quarterfinals on Friday at 3 p.m. Full tournament results will be available at www.theacc.com., with recaps on all Yellow Jacket matches available at www.ramblinwreck.com.
