ATLANTA – The 21st-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will once again take its act on the road this weekend for a return trip to North Carolina and key Atlantic Coast Conference match-ups against top-10 conference opponents. The Yellow Jackets will face seventh-ranked Duke on Saturday at 11 a.m. and then travel down Route 15-501 to face eighth-ranked North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Tech (11-4, 1-1 ACC) will look to bounce back from a 5-2 loss at the hands of fifth-ranked Wake Forest last Sunday when it faces the Blue Devils (11-2, 1-0 ACC) and Tar Heels (12-3, 1-0 ACC).
The Jackets have been led of late by their lone senior Laura Ozolins, who has been on a tear, winning her last five singles matches to improve her dual-match singles record to a solid 10-3 on the year. Rookie Catherine Gunn is the team’s leader in dual-match singles wins, as she is currently one of two Tech players ranked in the latest ITA poll as she checks in at No. 69. Gunn is 13-1 on the year in dual-match play and leads Tech with a 20-5 overall singles record on the year. Junior Jaime Wong is the Jackets’ top-ranked individual as she is No. 49 in the latest poll.
Following this weekend’s trip to North Carolina, Tech will return home for three-straight ACC tilts on March 30 and 31 and April 4, against Virginia, Maryland and Clemson.
