ATLANTA (Feb. 18) — Georgia Tech junior Bobbi Guthrie downed Mojca Pavlinic to clinch the Yellow Jackets’ 9-0 win against crosstown rival Georgia State in women’s collegiate tennis action Friday afternoon at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.
Guthrie downed Pavlinic, 7-6 (4), 7-5, at the No. 2 singles spot to move Tech to 3-1 onthe season. Georgia State dropped to 1-3.
Senior Sabrina Pardo won at No. 1 singles for the Jackets and teamed with Guthrie to win at No. 1 doubles. Pardo toppped Nina Jansen, 6-1, 6-2, in singles, and, along with Guthrie, topped Jansen and Mable Abraham, 8-6, in doubles.
The Jackets also got singles victories from Jaime Wong, Charlotte Pernet and Laura Ozolins.
Ozolins and Pernet also teamed to win at No. 2 doubles.
The Jackets earned default victories at the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles positions. Georgia State had just five players in its linuep due to injuries.
