CHATTANOOGA, TN – The Georgia Tech volleyball team improved its record to 6-2 on the season as they defeated Georgia State (10-4) in three games, 15-1, 15-5, 15-7, on Tuesday night in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Jackets hit a season high .369 as a team and were led by freshman Amanda Hess (Indianapolis, Ind.) who connected for six kills on seven attempts for an amazing .857 hitting percentage, and junior Ida Mabry (Divjake, Albania) who had seven kills on nine attempts. Junor Kyleen Bell (Rocklin, Calif.) posted a team-high nien kills, while freshman Keight Vincent (Atlanta, Ga.) had a career-high seven digs. The Panthers were led by Shelby Jordan who notched six kills and Janelle McVerry who posted four digs. Georgia Tech will take on Tennessee-Chattanooga (4-4) in a match at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.
