Tech Track To Compete At World Famous Penn Relays

ATLANTA – Coming off of the ACC Championships, the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams will head out to the World Famous Penn Relays held at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania from April 28-30.

Tech will have 24 athletes competing at the meet as competition will begin with Jasmine Isley and Leslie Njoku competing in the 400 meter hurdles on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Other running events on the day include the preliminary heats of the 4×100 meter relay, the distance relay, and the 4×400 meter relay, the men’s 3,000 meter steeplechase, and both the men’s and women’s 10,000 meter run to commence at 10:55 p.m. Jasmine Kent and Julienne McKee will be the only field athletes competing on Thursday as they take part in the long jump.

On Friday, the day will begin with the men’s high jump and women’s triple jump followed by finals of the 4×100. The 100 meter hurdles will start at 3:50 and the night will conclude with the men’s distance relay.

On the final day of the meet, Saturday, the Yellow Jackets will compete in some more relays as the men run in the 4xone mile, both the women and men race in the 4×800, and the women take part in the 4×400 relay.
