GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Georgia Tech softball team will have at least four of their games on television during the 2012 season as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference, Monday.
The Yellow Jackets Sunday afternoon game with Maryland on April 8th as well as the entire series at Florida State on April 15th and 16th will be televised.
The April 8th home game at 2 p.m. vs. Maryland will be shown on ESPNU while the doubleheader on Sunday, April 15th against Florida State at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. will take part on ESPN3.com. The highlight of the television package is a Monday night showdown with the Seminoles at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
The Jackets also have the potential to be featured later in the season as the entire ACC Championship will broadcasted on television for the first time in league history. The first two quarterfinal games will be shown on RSN with the later two games on May 10 to be on ESPN3. Both semifinal games on Friday will premiere on RSN and the Championship game on Saturday, May 12 is currently scheduled for ESPN2 but has the potential to be featured on ESPN.
A record 14 softball games involving ACC teams including, for the first time, all seven games of the ACC Softball Championship in Chapel Hill, N.C. (May 10-12).
In addition to the 80 events announced Monday as part of the ACC’s Olympic Sport conference package, other games will be carried by the ACC Digital Network and by the regional cable partners of various ACC institutions. A complete listing of those games will be announced at a later date.
