Tech Set to Host ITA Southeast Regionals

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis is set to host the 2023 ITA Southeast Regionals, Oct. 12-16, at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. Georgia Tech is one of 12 sites hosting Regional Championships. More than 80 athletes from 17 universities will participate in this weekend’s tournament in Atlanta. 

Representing Georgia Tech will be Krish Arora, Richard Biaigotti, Rohan Sachdev, Elias Shokry, Robert Bauer, and Gabriele Brancatelli. Three doubles teams will enter the tournament for the Yellow Jackets, Biaigotti/Brancatelli, Arora/Shokry, and Sachdev/Bauer.

WHAT: 2023 ITA Southeast Regional Championships 
WHO: Athletes from 15 universities will be competing in singles and doubles play
WHEN: Thursday- Monday, Oct. 12- 16
WHERE: Ken Byers Tennis Complex
ADMISSION: Free
PARKING: Spectators will park in the Family Housing Deck located on 10th Street

SCHEDULE

  • Thursday, Oct. 12 – Qualifying Draw – 2 rounds of singles and doubles; doubles to begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by singles not before noon
  • Friday, Oct. 13 – Main Draw – 2 rounds of doubles followed by 1 round of singles; doubles to begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by singles not before 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 14 – Main Draw – Doubles quarterfinals followed by singles round of 32 and round of 16; Consolation all day; doubles to begin at 9 a.m. followed by singles not before 10:30 a.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 15 – Singles quarterfinals followed by doubles semifinals and final; consolation all day; singles to begin at 10 a.m. followed by doubles not before 1 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 16 – Singles semifinals and final; semifinals begin at 10 a.m. with the singles championship slated for 1 p.m.*Weather may impact match times. Please utilize the ITA Tournament webpage (linked at the top of the this page) for most accurate times each day.

WHAT’S AT STAKE?

  • The Singles champion and finalists will receive automatic entry to the 2023 ITA Fall National Championship; doubles champion will also receive an automatic entry.
