THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field return to Clemson this weekend for the Bob Pollock Invite. Competition will take place on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28.
Last time out, Tech traveled to Nashville, Tenn. for the Vanderbilt Invite. Two Jackets earned individual victories and several athletes recorded top performances.
Sheleah Harris championed the women’s 60m finals after placing second in the first round. Harris also earned a second-place finish in the women’s 200m. Anna Witherspoon came out on top in the women’s 60-meter hurdles while her teammate, Taylor Grimes, followed behind in second place.
In the field events, Shanty Papakosta was a top performer with her second-place mark in the women’s high jump. Cameron O’Neal and Matthew Mazzacano earned third-place finishes in their respective events. O’Neal took home third in the men’s long and Mazzacano came in third in the men’s pole vault.
The men’s 4x400m relay team, comprised of Jameson Miller, Bradley Favors, Jeremiah LaDuca and Parker Buchheit, earned an impressive second place finish.
The meet will feature the nationally-rank No. 4 Alabama women’s team and No. 16/15 NC State. The Georgia Tech men are currently ranked at No. 15 and the women sit at No. 12 in the South Region.
