ANN ARBOR, Mich. – On day two of the Michigan Invite on Sunday, No. 14 Georgia Tech pocketed a five wins against No. 10 Michigan and Ohio State.
Georgia Tech opened the day in doubles action against Ohio State, picking up three wins. The Tech duo of Kenya Jones and Jeanette Lin collected a 6-2 victory over Kolie Allen/Isabelle Boulais, while teammates Victoria Flores and Valeriya Deminova also proved victorious. The 39th-ranked doubles tandem took control of a 6-3 victory over Danielle Wolf and Emma DeCoste. Nadia Gizdova and Gia Cohen also took away a win, defeating Mary Beth Hurley/Andrea Ballinger, 6-4.
In singles action, Tech faced host, 10th-ranked Michigan. The Wolverines, boasting three nationally-ranked singles players, took home five singles wins. Flores captured a singles victory, downing Anca Craciun in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6, while teammate Dalila Said defeated Lanie Van Linge, 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
The final day of competition takes place on Monday with Tech taking on Tennessee in singles and No. 10 Michigan in doubles.
