Tech Launches Innovative Ramblin' Rates Program

Jan. 12, 2015

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech will launch its innovative Ramblin’ Rates pricing program for the Yellow Jackets’ final two home men’s basketball games.

Debuting in 2012 at Northwestern University in conjunction with its Kellogg School of Management and Ticker (www.theticker.biz), Georgia Tech’s Ramblin’ Rates is a version of a descending-price auction that ensures all fans pay the lowest market price.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 12, fans can visit www.ramblinrates.com and place their bids for the remaining tickets for the Louisville (Feb. 23) and North Carolina (March 3) games. The bidding period will be an opportunity for fans to submit a pre-order quantity and price they are willing to pay for a shot at the best available seats. Bidding also provides Georgia Tech with information needed to set the initial starting price for tickets.

On Tuesday, Jan. 20, fans will be able to buy tickets at the listed market price. The price will never go up; it can only go down. All fans will pay the same low price, so there is no benefit to waiting to claim the best possible seats. Those who choose to buy at a higher price will be refunded the difference if the price decreases.

When you submit a bid in the presale round (Jan. 12-19), your bid remains active. If the price falls to your bid level, you will be first in line to purchase the best available seats. All fans will pay the final price, so buying early gets you the best seats without any risk or missing out on lower prices.

Beginning Jan. 20, fans may “buy” tickets anytime at the current Ramblin’ Rates – online (www.ramblinrates.com), by phone (1-888-TECH-TIX), or in person at the Georgia Tech Ticket Office. A “bid” will be accepted online only via www.ramblinrates.com. Customers are not guaranteed tickets at their bid price.
