THE FLATS – The 14th-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team earned the No. 6 seed in the 2021 ACC Championship in Rome, Ga., and will open play on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. The Yellow Jackets will face the winner of Clemson/Virginia Tech.
Tech (15-9, 8-5 ACC) is 28-27 when competing in the ACC Championship dating back to 1986. The Jackets have won four ACC tournament titles in program history – 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. In the last ACC Tournament in 2019, Tech fell in second round action to Syracuse, 4-3. Tech last advanced to the title match in 2017.
The 2021 ACC Tennis Championship will run April 21-25 at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College. Quarterfinal action will take place on Friday with semifinals on Saturday. The championship match on Sunday at 10 a.m. will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra with Sam Gore handling play-by-play and Jill Craybas serving as analyst.
The Jackets capped regular season action on Sunday, sweeping Boston College, 7-0. In regular season play, Tech defeated both Clemson and Virginia Tech.
