Tech Drops Tournament Opener to Mississippi St., 4-2

STARKVILLE, Miss.Β – Despite out-hitting the Bulldogs, Georgia Tech softball (5-5) fell to Mississippi State (8-3) 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in the opening game of The Snowman Alex Wilcox Memorial Tournament.

 

With the score at 0-0 in the top of the third, sophomoreΒ Tricia Awald rips an RBI single to right center to bring around freshmanΒ Bailee Zeitler from second to put Tech on the board first at 1-0.

The Yellow Jackets continue play in The Snowman on Sunday, Feb. 24, taking on Alcorn State and Mississippi State at 11 a.m. ET and 1:30 p.m. ET, respectively.
