ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech women’s swimming and diving team is partnering with the Atlanta Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in an effort to raise awareness and funds to help fight the cause of breast cancer. The Yellow Jackets will host “Seconds For The Cure” on Saturday, Jan. 26 in a 12:00 p.m. meet against Emory and Vanderbilt at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Admission is free.
Tech head coach Stu Wilson will establish times for each student-athlete in the various events that they will try and break. Fans, alums, parents and family members can then pledge an amount of money they wish to donate for every second the student-athlete finishes below that established time. Pink t-shirts will also be sold to allow spectators to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36.
