THE FLATS – Georgia Tech will be back on the road as they head to archrival Georgia for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The 18 meet will be held at the Gabrielsen Natatorium beginning with the 200 Medley Relay at 5 p.m.
Coming off an impressive opening meet last weekend at the FSU Fall Classic, Tech had several successful finishes at FSU, but the standout of the meet was freshman diver Max Fowler who earned two first-place wins in the men’s 1- and 3-meter. He was recognized by the ACC as Men’s Diver of the Week. Also receiving ACC recognition was Berke Saka, a podium finisher in every event he competed in this weekend, including two first-place finishes in the 200 IM and 200 Back events.
The women’s team also had impressive performances this weekend, totaling three first-place finishes. Freshman diver Elizabeth Powley finished the weekend with a first-place performance in the women’s 1-meter and placed second in the 3-meter. McKenzie Campbell also had a first-place performance in the 400 IM, with a time of 4:22.49. In the 100 Breast, Clarissa Sabin struck gold, finishing with a time of 1:02.21.
