COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore Evan Stowers garnered All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors for the second consecutive night finishing eight points off first place to finish runner-up on the men’s one-meter springboard with a score of 326.05 to lead Georgia Tech at the Women’s ACC Championships and Men’s ACC Diving Championships on Friday night.
Junior Tony Burkhardt posted a fourth-place finish on the men’s one-meter board with a score of 304.50. Burkhardt miss third place by just 2.30 points.
Sophomore Stephanie England led the women’s swimming and diving team with a sixth-place finish on the three-meter board with a score of 295.25. Senior Laurissa Prystaj finished 13th with a score of 255.35.
Junior Vesna Stojanovska clocked her second NCAA `B’ standard of the day in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing seventh with a time of 1:49.53. Senior Ashley Kracke finished seventh in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.53.
Junior Alison Walker and freshman Caroline Jones tallied 15th-place finishes for the Yellow Jackets. Walker swam a time of 1:05.67 in the 100 breaststroke, while Jones clocked a time of 1:51.72.
Seniors Meghan DeVinney and Liz Foster competed in the bonus finals of the 100 butterfly for the Jackets. DeVinney finished 19th with a time of 57.20, while Foster posted a 23rd-place finish for Tech with a time of 58.11.
In the 100 breast, senior Laura Heiser finished 22nd with a time of 1:07.55 and junior Natanya Harper finished 23rd with a time of 1:07.63.
The ACC meet will conclude with on Saturday, beginning with prelims at 12 Noon. Live stats are being provided on UMD’s Website. The will also broadcast on Live Cast.
